Although beautiful art work and distinguished jurors are the main attraction this weekend, DeLand, "The Athens of Florida", offers a totally delightful experience to the discerning visitor. Be sure to have lunch or dinner in one of DeLand's many fine restaurants, or grab a quick snack from one of the festival street vendors with their oh-so-tantalizing aromas of a variety of foods; don't forget to have a look-see in the many charming stores which will be open for your shopping convenience; enjoy strolling musicians playing a harmonic combination of light jazz, rhythm and blues, and pop country throughout the weekend; and, your small, aspiring artist can create his or her very own masterpiece at the Children's Hands-On Art Workshop.
Come for a weekend or a week! DeLand is conveniently located off I-4, Exit 118, between Daytona Beach and Orlando. BIRTHDAY BASH
NOVEMBER 10TH, 2009
The "Official Marine Corps League" sponsored Marine Birthday BASH is being held at VFW Post 2380, 510 S. Alabama Ave., DeLand on 10 Nov 2009 at 1915
Earlier in the day, the Malcolm B. MacLean Detachment will conduct a fund raising "Sky Dive" to benefit our home of record (VFW-2380) followed by a donation lunch for $ 7.00 of a 1/4 chicken meal.These meals will be available from around 1100 to approximately 1900, proceeds to the VFW Post.
The Marine Corps Birthday Bash will follow immediately thereafter with a short Marine Corps Program that will encompass all Veterans with emphasis on the Marine Corps.
COME OUT AND CELEBRATE WITH THE MARINES!
